Our advice is only worth anything if it is genuinely on your side. Here is exactly how we make our money — and how we don't.
Our independence pledge: We represent software buyers exclusively. We take no commissions, referral fees, affiliate income or sponsorship from any software vendor or reseller. No vendor can pay to appear on, rank in, or be described favourably by this site.
SoftwareContractNegotiation is a buyer-side advisory. We work for the organisations buying and renewing enterprise software — never for the vendors selling it. We do not resell software, we are not a vendor partner, and we hold no reseller margins. Our only incentive is to get the best possible outcome for the client paying us.
We are paid directly by our clients for advisory engagements. Our engagement models set out how this works. Our compensation does not depend on which vendor a client chooses or how much they spend — it depends on the value we deliver to the buyer.
To keep that independence real, we do not accept:
This website contains no affiliate links and no sponsored content. When we name or compare vendors, it is editorial judgement based on our negotiation experience and publicly available information — not a paid relationship. If this ever changes, we will disclose it clearly and prominently on the affected page.
If we ever have a relationship that could reasonably be seen as a conflict on a given topic, we will disclose it on the relevant page so you can weigh our advice accordingly. Vendor names, logos and trademarks referenced on this site belong to their respective owners and are used for identification and commentary only; their use does not imply any partnership or endorsement.
We may use AI tools to assist with research and drafting, but all published content is reviewed and approved by a qualified human author who is accountable for its accuracy. See our Editorial Standards for details.
If anything about our independence is unclear, ask. Email hello@softwarecontractnegotiation.com or use our contact form.
